I want to put some ClearNeon designs on some black outfits to use at a concert. Will this type of paint come off with washing?

Webmaster, posted on Monday June 22nd, 2009 12:53 PM
Yes; ClearNeon will come off clothing with normal washing.

I have a table painted flat black and I plan to paint lines on it with clearneon paint. Will the black background behind the uv paint reduce the brightness of the lines and will the lines be the only thing seen under blacklights?

Webmaster, posted on Monday June 22nd, 2009 12:52 PM
The black background will not reduce the vibrance of the paint. For this application we recommend the Aerosol Matte finish. The paint will only be visible when the UV lights are on. Thank you.

I want to paint corona bottles to place into a table! will the paint melt or run if it heats up to much and will it still look nice being in or on a glass bottle

Webmaster, posted on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 5:19 PM
What a great idea. The paint will not melt; it will behave the same as any other paint. ClearNeon on the Corona bottle will create a great effect! We recommend the Brush-on for this type of application. Thank you.

I am painting a table, and I need to know if the paint will smear if I use a polyurethane laquer to coat the table to make it water-proof.

Webmaster, posted on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 5:16 PM
We do not recommend using any clear coats or laquers over ClearNeon. Many of these contain UV blockers or inhibitors and would therefore diminish or negate the fluorescent quality of our paint. Use ClearNeon alone as a clear coat. Thank you.

I have a plastic pair of black eyeglass frames. Will this product work on such a surface (an opaque black one)?

Webmaster, posted on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 5:17 PM
Yes it will. Both the Aerosol and Brush-on formulas will work great on that surface, thank you!

ClearNeon is a permanent paint when used in indoor applications. The only way it will degrade over time is if used in outdoor applications where the artwork is in direct sunlight. Thank you.

I am considering having a black light sports night at our school. Can your product be applied to balls such as volleyballs and basketballs? Will it rub off after some use of the balls?

Webmaster, posted on Monday March 16th, 2009 3:56 PM
Yes ClearNeon can be applied to different sports related balls. It would rub off after some time, just as normal spray paint degrades after time when under heavy traffic of handling.

Hi im wanting to mod my pc and wondering if it would damage my motherboard or any other electrical board in my pc if i painted it?

Webmaster, posted on Monday February 16th, 2009 11:41 AM
ClearNeon is widely used in PC modification, I have not heard of it damaging the internals of a PC. Typically it is used to paint fans, hoses etc, not the board. Thank you for your interest in ClearNeon!

Does the spray paint soak into cotton fabric such that it would need a "second coat" or does it sit on top of the fabric? I want to paint the palms of 80 pair of flesh colored cotton gloves. would the whote show up on the flesh color?

Webmaster, posted on Friday January 9th, 2009 12:09 PM
Our product would work great for that. It is used widely on clothing, as it will show up brightly under UV black lighting. The White would show up very well for this application. Thank you.

How can you fix the paint on cloth, wanting to make it permanent on fabric. As creating a drawing and leaving it (Its for a show). Thanks

Webmaster, posted on Wednesday December 17th, 2008 10:58 AM
Yes our paint will affix to cloth. Our Aerosol formula would be best for that. It dries almost instantly and is extremely light weight. It will be permanent until the garment is washed. Thanks!

Have tried to paint plastic leis with Clear Neon spray paint. Put them under a 75 watt bulb - but nothing shows up.What is wrong?

Webmaster, posted on Monday December 1st, 2008 1:17 PM
What type of bulb are you using? If it is a painted screw-in bulb, it will not work as that is not a UV blacklight. Fluroescent UV blacklights are required for our product to work ar optimal levels.

Do you think the aerosol would work on a large feather boa or would the feathers get saturated and stick together?

Webmaster, posted on Monday December 1st, 2008 1:15 PM
Our Aerosol formula would be perfect for this application. It dries almost instantly and is extremely light weight. The feathers would not stick together.

Can the clearneon aerosol be sprayed on a clear lucite surface and remain entirely transparent?
thanks.

Webmaster, posted on Monday December 1st, 2008 1:13 PM
If the lucite surface is an acrylic glass it will show a slight haze where applied. Most lucite actually filters and thus blocks UV light, which would render our product useless. The only glass we apply our product to to have the full effect is quartz glass, which does not filter out UV rays.

I want to paint on black sweats. Wanting the paint to be invisible under normal light. Will your invisible aerosol paint work for that? Will it glow/shine under blacklight? Will all colors work? Or can you suggest what we can do to make the clothing look normal under regular light and different under blacklight?

Webmaster, posted on Monday December 1st, 2008 1:09 PM
Our Aerosol formula will work great for that. Once applied to fabric, it will dry very quickly but will wash off in washing machine. All of the Aerosol colors will be invisible under normal light and then only visible under UV blacklights.

I have a home theater room i am building which will also be a party room. If i paint a mural on the wall, i understand it is invisible with lights on, glows with black lights on, but what about in the dark? Will the mural be invisible while watching movies in the room or does it have some visible quality in darkenss without blacklights on?

Webmaster, posted on Monday December 1st, 2008 1:07 PM
Our paint will be invisible under normal light and also while watching movies, as long as the blacklights are indeed turned off. Our Aerosol formula is a matte finish and will be totally invisible. Our Brush-on formula will have a slight shine where applied under normal light.

If you use the product outdoors would putting some kind of clear coat over it prevent it from fading as quickly or is the fact that the sun can still get to it enough to make it still fade?

Webmaster, posted on Tuesday October 14th, 2008 10:49 AM
ClearNeon will fade if in direct sunlight. A clear coat will not protect fading. Also if a clearcoat is used, which is not always necessary, make sure there are no UV blockers. If so, you will not be able to see your work. Thank you for your question.

Use the aerosol paint it the best for plastic and cloth. Always use the aerosol unless you can not get shipped to you. Then use the brushon as a last resort. Or if you need to air brush.

I was looking at two of your awesome products: the aerosol paint and he 48" tube blacklight. One, i was wondering if the paint when dried will glow more then the white wall (a little bigger then dormroom size with 2 48" blacklights). and two, i was wondering if you just plug the blacklight into a wall socket.

Thanks!!

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 12:31 PM
It may not fluoresce brighter than the white wall; however, it will fluoresce intensly with whatever color is applied to the white wall. Two 48 inch blacklights should be plenty, but will really help with intense presentation of ClearNeon. The more blacklight the more intense the paint. Thank you for your interest in ClearNeon!

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 12:33 PM
It depends on the surface area you are wanting to cover. You can dilute the brush-on up to 50 percent for airbrush application. Test for desired viscosity. Contact Customer Service for futher information. 316-722-5825.
    Thank you for your questions.

if i bought the deluxe box package with the 2 double bulb blacklights, for everything to look right how much space would it cover like a medium size livingroom or just a small bedroom, like 20 x20 orwhat how to guage the right amount of light for the room..?

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 12:34 PM
Well, the more blacklight you have the more intense ClearNeon will fluoresce. Two 48 inch lights should be plenty for a small bedroom, but this is all depending on placement of the lights, and preference of how you want your work to look. It also depends on the application, entire room or just one wall. Usually two 48 inch lights emit enough light for ClearNeon to fluoresce with high intensity. Thank you for your interest in ClearNeon.

I am planning on using your invisible brush on paints (white or orange) to go over the black painted areas (acrylic) of a piece of artwork. Will the paint work correctly with the black undercoat? Would going over the paint with a oil based polyurethane coating harm the glow in any way?

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 12:35 PM
ClearNeon Brush-on tends to have a glossy finish, and should work on any background color. ClearNeon Brush-on is a water-base polyurethane, so a top coat is not necessary. If you want a top coat, I would get one with no oil, and NO UV blockers. If so, you will not be able to see your work. Thank you for your questions.

ClearNeon is not intended for outdoor use, as it will fade if in direct sunlight. If you are wanting the glow to be temporary, it could definitely be a fun project.

Was wondering if you will be at Burningman this year. Am also thinkng of using this on canvas tent " old army tent " On the inside, will it dry out the canvas or harm the material in any way, or start to crack and peel away.

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 11:42 AM
I do not think we will be attending Burningman this year. It should not dry out the canvas or harm the material. ClearNeon is an invisible fluorescent Clear Coat and should not harm, crack, or peel away. ClearNeon Brush-on is very durable, and is permanent. I would recommend trying ClearNeon in an inconspicuous area first to see exactly how it applies to your surface.

ClearNeon is invisible in normal room lighting, and fluoresces in UV blacklight. ClearNeon works great on ceilings and walls. Try out our ClearNeon Aerosol, it has a matte finish and is virtually undetectable on any surface!

Hi everyone! First time user here. I am a VERY big fan of LOST. If you watch the show then yes you know what I am about to say! I am creating a replica of the blast door map out of 9 pieces of canvas. http://images.lostpedia.com/images/3/3c/Fullblastdoor.jpg-Link to image. It uses 3 colors, blue, yellow and pink. I will post my final result when done, but first some questions.

-Does the clear neon fade over time? if so how long? I am keeping it in a room with only one small window so little to no direct sunlight will be a factor.

-Does the Pearlescence/Cosmic Glow color come out close enough to a pinkish red for the result I am looking for? (See image in link above)

-How well do the colors go on with a brush, I am using the brush on paints and there is text to be written.

-How much comes in the brush on?

-How well does it work on canvas? Alternatively, I will first paint a rustic steel color with sponges in acrylic paint before putting on the clear neon, how well will it adhere?

-Finally does diluting the clear neon in water help me achieve a dimer glow? The map I am trying to re-create has much dimer colors of yellow, blue and pink in the background which will be the first layer I do.

Thanks for your help!

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 11:39 AM
ClearNeon can fade if in direct sunlight. It should, I recommend trying it in an inconspicous area first. It depends on the surface; however, application is very easy and versatile. The brush-on can also be diluted with water for desired viscosity. Be sure to read the label for application instructions. The brush-on comes in 4 ounce jars and works great on canvas. ClearNeon adheres to almost any surface. Again try in an inconspicous area first for desired application. No, dilution of ClearNeon will not change the intensity of how it fluoresces. Great questions, thank you for your interest.

I am looking to use on your product on black shirts for stage shows..If the shirts get washed will the paint still be visable or will it will have to be re-applied after every washing.

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 11:37 AM
ClearNeon does wash out, however it does depend on the type of fabric used, as well as how much ClearNeon was used. More than likely, re-application will be necessary for intense visibility.

If there is something they will pick up on their feet and bodies, then make prints as they leave the area, I could use a black light the next night to see what animals came into camp and what direction they left when they tracked the spray away.

Approximately 45 square feet on a smooth surface. It sounds like that should be enough, but it can vary depending on how much surface is used.

I was interested in getting the white spray ClearNeon, and using it on a somewhat glossy white surface with the intent to make it glow under blacklight. Would the ClearNeon make the surface non-glossy? Could I spray the surface afterward with spray gloss to regain a gloss finish? Or, best yet do you have or plan to make a glossy white ClearNeon spray? Thanks!

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 11:24 AM
ClearNeon should not effect the surface. I would try testing in an inconspicuous area first. Yes, but it is not always necessary. If you do, make sure it does not have UV Blockers. If it does you will not be able to see your work. White Gloss Aerosol is on backorder; however, we do have other colors. Check out the store for product availability.

ClearNeon works great on concrete. I would recommend the ClearNeon Aerosol formula. Not necessarily; however, the more lights you have the more intense the paint will fluoresce.

How long will this last outdoors?
I HAVE A WATERFALL AND A FAKE VOLCANO.

Webmaster, posted on Thursday April 10th, 2008 12:38 PM
The paint is not meant for outdoor use. Direct sunlight fades the paint very quickly. The red fades the quickest. You can try it but it will not last.

CAN YOU SPRAY IT THROUGH AN AIR BRUSH & IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE IT PERMANENT

Webmaster, posted on Tuesday May 13th, 2008 11:41 AM
Yes the water based Brush-on formula can be sprayed through an airbrush. All ClearNeon is permanent, unless you would like it to be removed.

Yes we do. The shipping is about $120.00 US per order. It has to be shipped next day air only. If you are interested I suggest that you put together a large order with friends, because the shipping price is about the same for large orders as small orders. Call Customer Service at 1-866-822-6366 to place the order.

Can this be used on polished stainless steel? Does it dull out polished surfaces? How invisible is it really?

I am doing some stainless work, and would like to experiment with this, but dont want to disturb my finish, as stainless isn't easy to polish.

Thanks alot

What long can these products realistically be expected to last say if used in an artwork kept out of sunlight? Are they based on dyes or pigments? apparently pigments are more stable.

Webmaster, posted on Tuesday March 8th, 2005 9:44 PM
As long as you keep these colors out of the sunlight, they will last for years.

I want to paint my room with your paints. I have a white flat wall and want to paint a design, a pic or graffiti style words but dont know how! Will it light the white walls up when the blacklight turns on? Can I buy a regular pic and somehow make it light up? Thanks

Webmaster, posted on Tuesday May 13th, 2008 11:32 AM
ClearNeon will work fine on white walls. ClearNeon, when used with the right black light, will luminate brighter than the white walls.

can i use this stuff to paint ceremic type decorations in my aquarium. the tank does accumulate small levels of ammonia. will it be safe for my fish?? will it wear off?? thanks

Webmaster, posted on Thursday October 30th, 2008 12:42 PM
It should work, but I have never seen it done before. ClearNeon is considered Non-Toxic and I do not see any problem especially if it is painted on the outside of the aquarium.

I LOVE the lightning effect on page 3 of your gallery of photos. How was this effect accomplished? Is the lightning bolt made with white? or stone white? is there some sort of blue background behind the bolts, or was some sort of UV blocker used around the bolts to make it stand out? (also, was the desk painted with yellow?) Thanks so much, and it looks great!

Webmaster, posted on Tuesday May 13th, 2008 11:25 AM
The lightening bolt is white. There is some blue used in the clouds along with the white. There is yellow and green on the desk and computer. This added a nice glow to the room.
